I feel privileged to have and have read the second poetry anthology by my friend and fellow writer Indah P. I believe this book has come to me at the right time.

In a world and time like this, it’s a challenge to stay positive. I’ve been listening to George Michael’s “Praying for Time” on repeat, feeling how the song has never hit this close to home before:

“It’s hard to love … there’s so much to hate … hanging on to hope … when there is no hope to speak of … “

Then I came across “The Voices and Echoes of Love”. Once again, Indah P has brought me to my temporary refuge.

This is the book you should read — and enjoy — one page, or poem, at a time. The journey is slow but worth your time, space, energy, and sanity. This book can take you away from the grim reality you may have to deal with these days.

Divided into four chapters, thread on each one with care. In “The Fragments of Love”, it feels that you are guided to see the elements of love can be found anywhere — even in nature. The Trees — as they are — shade and shelter you. Listen to your surroundings until you find Your Song.

In “The Tunes of Love”, you are invited to face the music — as it is and also something else. This Life Is A Dream, but you should not despair when you finally reach its End. There are a whole lot of other chapters of your life, waiting before you. You have no choice but to move forward.

What do you do when you are caught in “The Moments of Love”? Enjoy. Enjoy while it lasts. Let yourself be Adored by Love. Allow it to enter your heart until it is forever Engraved within you. Hopefully, it will keep you strong in the world slowly affected and infested by hate.

Last but not least, embrace this book’s last chapter, “The Depths of Love”. By then, you shall have been blessed with love. Find your Muse or be one instead. Despite the trials and tribulations, let the poems in this chapter remind you … that love is still possible. It’s still okay to hang on to love, while having at least one foot on the ground called ‘reality’.

All in all, just listen to “The Voices and Echoes of Love”. Let them remind you once again how to be human — and that it’s okay to be vulnerable too.

After all, love is a Blessing. Whether one is in life or death, love still exists. Love is from God — and to God as well love shall return.

Just like us mortals.
