#CuteCoffeeShops in #Jakarta : The French Oven
There are plenty of cute coffee shops in Jakarta. I’m going to review each time I have a chance to visit one. Here’s the first one, starting this year:
On Tuesday (13 February 2024) before Election Day, my brother and I visited The French Oven in the morning at around nine. The place is already open at 7:30 and close at 19:30.
The French Oven is located in Pakubuwono, South Jakarta. It’s on the second floor of the SADA Building. According to the barista on duty that morning, The French Oven has been around since mid-November 2023.
Why did the owner choose “The French Oven” as their name? Well, the owner started baking pastries as part of their hobby and business. Knowing how a lot of people in Jakarta are into coffee shops, then they decided to open this one as well.
Yes, it’s a cute coffee shop with a French-style decoration. It’s a comfortable place where you can hang out with your significant other, your small group of friends, or even just by yourself with a book. Are you a writer looking for a quiet place with great coffee and snacks while writing down your stories? This is the place to be.
What did I order that morning? Iced cappuccino, of course. Even when my brother and I didn’t feel like ordering any snacks, our drinks were served with three samples of cookies for us to try.
All in all, I’d very much like to return to The French Oven for more. The French lounge music gives a calming vibe. I’m also curious to try their selection of “cat tongue cookies” (kattetongen). They have … Earl Grey-flavoured ones!
